Today we did the tourist thing and explored Jackson Hole’s town center area. We really enjoyed this low-key “stroll around as a true tourist” day. We enjoyed the various animal sculptures.

“Royalty” – bronze statue by renowned Canadian Artist Karl Lansing. The bull elk is “life and a half size”. (150% life size)

We came across these cool statues hanging out on some benches.

Barry enjoyed some time with Orville and Wilbur Wright. While I listened to some classic stories from Mark Twain.

We spotted Albert Einstein, and Amelia Earhart quietly hanging out.

A few more amazing icons from our U.S. history were nearby!

This one had us stumped till Barry checked on the back of it.

From one of my favorite movies! Of course he is here. This is Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I had to sit with Butch Cassidy for a picture!
(“Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid”)

There was one last bronze bench statue, and we were stumped. We looked on the back…didn’t help us…

I went into the adjacent gallery and asked the gentleman in there about the statue we couldn’t figure out. She was Joan of Arc!
We went into the art gallery. What amazing art! I fell in love with this one. Totally captivated me! It was huge and so much more impressive in person!

And – Only $37,500. My photo will have to suffice. (Yes, I did ask first if I could take a picture.)

I LOVED how the light “inside” the tepee shines through!

Nearby were additional statue art pieces.

The park square as you enter the town is marked with elk antler arches on each corner. These have become iconic to Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Above is the monument for their Veterans from WWI through Desert Storm. A cowboy at the top pays homage to them.

Of course we shopped. Always on the lookout for that special t-shirt. While we went into quite a few shops Barry did not find one that he had to have, but we did come across a beautiful glass shot glass with an etched bison on it. We preferred this over the typical novelty ones that are simply “wrapped” or painted. Those can get messed up if you actually use them regularly. This one felt great in the hand, so we purchased it.

We also enjoyed a rather unique store…

There was no telling what animal we would see next!

We split a bison burger for lunch on an upper patio overlooking the park. We shared our table with two visiting ladies – Sarah, from West Virginia, and Laura, from Ohio. Ironically, they ordered the exact same as we did- bison burger split and with a GF bun and same side. I laughed, and said we could have ordered for them if we had known they were coming. LOL We had a very enjoyable conversation with them throughout lunch.

Miscellaneous artwork around town that caught my eye:

I know this looks like just a typical street sign, and for most people it is, but we have friends, Bob and Pearl, and Glenwood is my HS. The two together (and marking where we parked the Jeep, just made me smile.

We headed back to The Victorian RV Resort.

I loved these black and white birds-found out they are the black-billed magpie! The iridescent blue on the wings and tail was beautiful
Now it was time to enjoy a little pool time before dinner. What a beautiful pool area. So relaxing. We really liked the way a couple of the spa areas were kind of “tucked away” for more privacy.

What a great, relaxing day! Tomorrow we head down the road to visit Joe and Janice Morris (pickleball friends from CVR).
