After our Highline Trail hike yesterday that took us 11 hours and 40 minutes to complete, and seriously tested our limitations. We took everything off our itinerary for today and replaced it with Relax and RECOVER. Serious hikers we are not. (Obviously!) We do enjoy hikes here and there to explore cool areas as we travel, but my fitness comes solely from pickleball and trying to eat healthy. LOL
When we checked into the West Glacier KOA on the 25th, we thought -WOW this place looks amazing! We walked around that evening after dinner to enjoy the park before we get too busy the next couple days of hiking/exploring Glacier NP. Well, today (August 27th) became the day for us to soak it all in – literally.
Beautiful outdoor patio area with the Bear Cafe serves breakfast starting at 7am, as well as dinners on Tuesday through Friday.
There are two pool areas. One is a “family” pool, the other is the “ADULT ONLY Pool area! Both pools have lights that change color. The blue was awesome. The adult only area has a refreshing swimming pool, two hot tubs (about 100 degrees, AND TWO SAUNAS!
Boy, did the hot tub and pool both feel amazing on our sore muscles!
On our way back to Vinny we saw a food truck setting up. Hmm – Maybe I don’t want to fix dinner. After all —we are recovering today! We changed our clothes, poured a glass of wine, walked over, and ordered dinner.
We enjoyed our dinner in one of the comfy lounge areas. We shared One JACKALOPE sausage and one WILD BOAR Sausage. While both were good, the Jackalope sausage was a bit spicy. We both preferred the boar, so without saying anything we each saved a bite of the wild boar sausage for our last bite. Great minds. 🙂
It is SO relaxing here! Before we knew it there was musical entertainment starting to play. These two guys played from 7-9 pm. They performed a delightful rendition of “Devil Went Down to Georgia”, but due to copyright I cannot post it here. The fiddler went all around the lawn area as he played.
We headed back to the RV about 8:15. It was so nice to just kick back and enjoy the amenities at this KOA!
While it was quite expensive to stay here, the location was the best for access to Glacier National Park! We highly recommend it!
I love this!!!lookin good Bar we love you guys we will meet again
🙂 Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the post. Barry has the relaxing part down!
