Redding Elks Lodge & RV

Today was a 313-mile drive from Yosemite. More curves and steep grades. Oh boy! I can’t wait for straight and boring roads. We stayed at the Redding Elks twice during the summer of 2017, so we were looking forward to decent 50 amp, and … a great swimming pool! We were not disappointed. We parked in site #2, and headed to the pool. The water was perfect! We were amazed that they still have a diving board here! I have to wonder if it is worth the additional insurance that it must cost.

This lodge is right on the Sacramento River. The entire property is absolutely beautiful.

This lodge is a very active one. The office staff was extremely friendly. Tonight the kitchen was open for ordering dinner till 7. We don’t usually get meals out, but it was hot and I was exhausted, so we ordered a cheeseburger and chef salad. OMG. The chef salad was huge and so good. We shared it, and I still had enough for the next day!

After dinner we decided to take a short walk down the path that runs between the Elks property and the river. So peaceful.

We timed it perfectly for exquisite images of the various bridges with still water reflections.

Elevated railroad bridge. Love the curve that you see in the second photo.

Railroad bridge over part of the nearby park. Love the curve!

It was a quick one-night stay. On to Crater Lake National Park…

    1. It really is. Better than some campgrounds. The Sacramento River certainly adds to the peacefulness and beauty. We will always plan to stop if traveling thru.
