It wasn’t long after leaving the Redding Elks in Redding, California that we were enjoying the drive into the picturesque area of Lake Shasta and Mt. Shasta. The water level of the lake was much higher than it has been in years.
The lush treed hills were gorgeous. The beauty was interrupted with a stretch near the highway that experienced wildfire in the recent past.
And then Mt Shasta popped into view right in front of us, and continued to show up as we came around various curves.
Our destination today was Seven Feathers Casino and the overnight, dry-camping area they offer for RVs
We had dinner inside and tried our luck at a poker machine for a little bit. When I used the restroom, I discovered a really cool feature at the sinks. There was a bar that came out over the sink. You put your hands underneath it beginning on the left to receive soap. Slide your hands to the center for the water, and best of all – continue to the right and have your hands blown dry right there! No dripping water across the sink and onto the floor as you walk towards a paper towel dispenser or dryer. And no waste of paper towels or overflowing trash receptacles!
We weren’t really feeling it at the poker machine, so we cashed out and went back to the RV.
It was a beautiful evening sitting outside in the shade of the RV.
Tomorrow our destination is Battleground, Washington where we’ll spend the weekend with Eric and Lynne Ogren!! Can’t wait to see such dear friends!
