Today, Barry and I took the kayaks back to Squaw Lake. It was just the two of us today since Paul & Sue are getting ready to start heading back to Idaho this weekend. What a gorgeous day. I actually expected to be the only ones out on the water, but saw several jet skis, power boats and some fishing kayaks. We paddled the same route that Paul showed us previously. We enjoyed trying out our new life jackets (PFDs) as we paddled the winding passage through the reeds to a larger lake area, and on through to the Colorado River.
We enjoyed just floating on the Colorado till we turned back into Squaw Lake to return to the boat launch where the Jeep was parked. The wind kicked up quite a bit with 14 mph winds growing to 18mph. We definitely got an upper body workout during the last section to the launch area.
It is so nice that we can come here as much as we want. Kayaking in the desert. Who knew!?!
