We arrived on October 13, and spent three nights here at Myrtle Beach Travel Park. This has been a TOTALLY relaxing three days. Much deserved, and yes, I was able to appreciate it! I got some keto muffins and keto mini cheesecake made.
Below are views of our site, and views from Vinny. Because of damage the park incurred from a hurricane earlier in the spring, our site was moved back one since the closest sites all along that area were not usable yet.
The park was quite large with very different areas and views. Here is a lake that some border.
The beach was nice soft sand! We walked down to the pier thinking we could walk out on it, but you have to PAY to go onto it for any reason! We’ve been on other piers, so we passed. Not worth that.
Kid splash pond area:
The three fish “open” their mouths till the weight of the water causes them to tip spilling the water below…onto anyone in that area. Kids love it.
Main pool area:
While it was a really nice pool, we preferred the fun this adjacent water feature had.
INDOOR POOL:
Yes, there was even an indoor pool. Nice to swim laps.We checked it out, but we stayed outside because the weather was perfect.
AND a LAZY RIVER! We LOVED the lazy river so much we made use of it each day! This was really cool!
Getting on the tube wasn’t as easy as assumed! Quick learning curve. LOL
Now Barry’s turn!! Since his tube floated beyond the stairs, he tried jumping up onto it.
It was fun just letting the current keep us going, gently turning us around, but you really needed to stay in the middle most of the time for best results. Coming around each end you received a little boost. One end more than the other.
One of us really enjoyed spinning around as we went. The far end had a nice current you could see, but you still had to hit it just right. Once I discovered the kick and spin it gave you, I wanted to come into the curve a little faster to see if it could send me spinning down the “front” straight-a-way. Unfortunately, a lazier river floater would occasionally hinder me. 🙂
Barry enjoyed a peaceful beach ride on his bike every day. He loves riding on the nice, hard-packed wet sand.
Here is one of his early morning rides where he captured a beautiful sunrise.
I am truly grateful for Barry intentionally planning our travels to include 2-3 days specifically for relaxation, especially after we know we will be going full tilt exploring an area. Tomorrow we leave for Savannah, GA!
Very well organized, looks like a great location. With lots of fun stuff.
