Beach Time with the Kiddos

Today was a great day at Silver Strand State Beach. Justin brought Isaac and Mona out for the day. This is the first we’ve been with these guys in over 6 months! We always miss them. (Thank goodness for the occasional FaceTime calls.)

When they first arrived, we had a scavenger hunt set up for them. They each had 7 clues to solve. It was a fun way to give them a couple little things we picked up for them.

The prize was a squeezable alien with popping eyes that we picked up for them at Devil’s Tower. We also got them each a little pouch of shiny rock-like magnets. (Also from Devil’s Tower). They loved them.

Beach fun:

While Mona enjoys time at the beach, this is totally Isaac’s happy place! We started him off at the beach when he was just a baby. Great memories that Barry and I will always treasure!!

A few minutes of kite flying. It was a bit too windy for Dollar Store kites, especially when it took two kits to make one complete kite. Mona still enjoyed it.

Nicely done, Mona!!

Bury me Papa!! Isaac tried to dig the hole by himself, but he needed a little more muscle and know-how from Papa.

It wasn’t long till Mona asked to be buried, with the stipulation of keeping her arms OUT. I totally get that! That’s exactly what I’d do, too. šŸ™‚

Pretzel snack time! Hmmm, Isaac whatcha-gonna-do? Papa to the rescue! He fed a pretzel to Isaac one at a time. LOL It was pretty funny, especially, if Isaac bit down causing the pretzel to break off and fall on the sand in front of him. Fun and laughter is the best when we are with these guys!

Time to rise up and out of the sand! Mona did it pretty easily. Isaac had a bit more work to do. šŸ™‚ Mona gave him a hand.

With a little help with the shovel, Isaac got himself out! What a sandy mess he is. LOL. Warm showers for both are near by. šŸ™‚

Mona was ready to head back to Vinny, but Isaac stayed for more wave time with Papa. Then Papa wrote Isaac’s name in the sand for a picture.

The kids left to go back home after each enjoying a nice, warm shower, followed with some dry clothes. Justin will bring them back in the morning for them to head to Yuma with us!
