We are nestled back in our leased site at Pio Pico TT for one month before we leave for Florida. How sweet and stress free it was knowing we could pull into Pio anytime of day, and be able to go directly to our site! No hassles with having to arrive, get on the “crossover”… Continue reading Nana and Papa Time

Where to stay in Yuma?
After our night in Winslow, AZ and our stop at the Meteor Crater, we arrived in Yuma, AZ. We were able to “mooch-dock” at Bob and Janet Bockus’s place for the night as shown above. Since we arrived in the early afternoon we took advantage of the daylight to check out both Fortuna De Oro… Continue reading Where to stay in Yuma?
Our First Spontaneous Stop!
Barry and I are planners. Barry spends a lot of time planning out our navigation routes to each of our destinations. Our travel days do not usually include stops along the way. Course we haven’t really had major points of interest that have been along our way…till today. (Helps that we only tend to go… Continue reading Our First Spontaneous Stop!
“Take It Easy” on Route 66
Today, October 14, 2019, we left Albuquerque, NM. I enjoy seeing landscape changes as we drive. Some sites are beautiful…others are quite the opposite. We stopped to “Take It Easy” for the day and night in Winslow, AZ! Of course we had to hang out “Standin’ on the Corner” for a while. 🙂 Written by… Continue reading “Take It Easy” on Route 66
A Day in Sante Fe – Oct 2019
We purposely arrived in Albuquerque a few days prior to the start of the Balloon Fiesta so that we would be able to check out Sante Fe. We considered taking the Rail Runner train from Albuquerque to Santa Fe, but decided to drive to have more flexibility. We may want to stop at Madrid (where… Continue reading A Day in Sante Fe – Oct 2019
Most Spectacular Sunset @ Horse Thief BLM Campground 9-22-19
Tonight’s sunset was the most spectacular that I recall ever experiencing. I’m sure our vast view from our campsite helped intensify it as it literally surrounded us. The beginning reminded me of brush strokes to be an artist’s rendition of a sunset. Maybe someone like Van Gogh!?! See what you think…
Monument Valley – Sept ’19 Sunset/Sunrise The Mittens
Seeing how vibrant the rock monuments get with the setting sun, we were there for the entire sunset on the East and West Mittens and Merrick Butte. The sun did not disappoint. Although we did have hopes that we might see a third mitten appear as the shadow of the left mitten started to appear on… Continue reading Monument Valley – Sept ’19 Sunset/Sunrise The Mittens
Monument Valley – Sept ’19
We arrived at Goulding’s RV Park at Monument Valley. The location was ideal. The first evening we just took a short drive to check a few things out before it got dark. This area is famous for all the western movies that were filmed here, so we checked out John Wayne’s cabin. John Ford filmed… Continue reading Monument Valley – Sept ’19
Leaving Monument Valley
After the incredible sunset with the East and West Mittens, we finished getting Vinny ready, hooked up the Jeep and began our travel day to Moab. Before getting out of the area we had to make the stop for the classic Forrest Gump shot. We were a bit limited where we could pull over, but… Continue reading Leaving Monument Valley
9-14-19 Verde Valley TT
We left Araby Acres Encore Park in Yuma at 8:15 am. on Friday the 13th. I drove today. It took us 4 hours 45 minutes to get to Verde Valley TT (no stops). The last 7 miles had 7 roundabouts!! I think that has to be a record for us! The park is spread out… Continue reading 9-14-19 Verde Valley TT
