THOUSAND TRAILS SEASIDE (TT)
Barry planned for us to be at the Seaside Thousand Trails for a week that included the 4th of July, so we could stop by the beach house to spend some time with Grandma Nancy (the first Nancy Patrick. š ).
TT Seaside is one mile from the beach. We scored a great site. Lots of privacy. FULL hookups with 50amp. To the right of us was a seasonal/annual site, but they were not there during our stay! Nice patio area and exceptional space behind our rig. Since the weather was not the best while we were here, it was nice to be so close to the pool and pickleball courts. From our bed we could see the pickleball courts across the road behind us, but unfortunately it took several days before anyone was there to play. š
We could have been in a row like these…no thanks.
The pool and spa was only open till 7 PM. We managed to use it a couple of times while we were here. We could see our motorhome from the spa. While the pool and spa are enclosed, there are doors that open and the roof opens up to allow for airflow and escape of warmer, humid air. We were quite impressed with the place.
As we travel this summer I’ve really been noticing unique trees, or at least ones that catch my eye. Here are a couple from the TT Seaside.

TIME AT THE BEACH
We walked along the beach one day. One evening after visiting with Nancy and the rest of the gang at the beach house, Barry and I kept with our Seaside tradition of building a fire on the beach to fix dinner on/over, enjoying a little red wine with the relaxing calm of the beach and the mesmerizing effect of the fire, as we wait and watch for a sunset. Sunsets this week weren’t likely. When we repeated this on the 4th of July, we didn’t stay past 9. It was getting too crazy with fireworks. I’m just not a fan of amateur pyrotechnics. Too much can go wrong especially when it is crowded and you are surrounded by people shooting things off.
The closest we got to a sunset…
Another day checking out a few stores and the turn around.
CANNON BEACH
We spent a half-day in Cannon Beach. Barry was looking for a replacement for his older Cannon Beach t-shirt. Success. We remember the amazing oyster burger that Justin got years ago, and thought we may have found the right restaurant. It was the only restaurant with an oyster burger on the menu. Unfortunately, it was not “it”. However, my (3) blackened halibut tacos were pretty awesome.
TIME with GRANDMA NANCY (PATRICK) and family at the BEACH HOUSE
I LOVE this lady!! We’ve had a beautiful connection since we first met in 2006, but it became even more special when I became the second Nancy Patrick in 2012.

SO much laughter as childhood stories about growing up at Seaside and the farm house are shared by Mary, Nancy and Billie! Thank you, Janie for asking the questions. We were lucky to be a part of this!

Time to get ready to head to Washington tomorrow morning.
(If I miss-named someone or misspelled a name, please let me know. Having just met most of you, it was hard to keep all the names straight–let alone know your spelling.)
I love this area! One of my favorite vacation spots. May retire there or further down the coast? Dreamy.
Yes,Barry and I enjoyed getting away for a week each summer while in WA.Oregon has many beautiful beach towns.
